About The Country Duck
Bringing Countryside Fun & Teamwork to Events Across the UK
Welcome to The Country Duck, home of Britain’s most engaging and entertaining duck herding
and sheepdog displays.
We specialise in bringing the magic of the countryside to life at corporate events, weddings,
private parties, and country shows across the UK – o ering laughter, teamwork, and memories
that last.
Whether it’s a relaxed afternoon display on a wedding lawn or an interactive team challenge for a
corporate retreat, we provide the perfect mix of fun, education, and countryside charm.
Our Story
The Country Duck was founded over 25 years ago from a love of the countryside and a passion
for working dogs. What began as small rural demonstrations soon grew into one of the UK’s most
popular mobile countryside attractions – bringing people closer to nature and each other
through laughter and teamwork.
We’ve entertained thousands of guests at events across England, Wales, and the wider UK,
showcasing the skill and intelligence of our trained working sheepdogs as they guide ducks
through a playful obstacle course.
Over the years, our displays have become a favourite feature at corporate events, weddings,
agricultural shows, and private celebrations – always delivered with professionalism, care, and
a big dose of fun.
What We Do
At its heart, duck herding is all about teamwork, communication, and connection – not just
between handler and dog, but between everyone taking part.
Our handlers begin with a fascinating demonstration of sheepdog control and training, showing
how skill, patience, and clear communication lead to perfect cooperation.
Then, it’s time for guests to have a go! Under expert guidance, they’ll learn to direct our
sheepdogs to gently herd ducks through gates, tunnels, and obstacles.
It’s fun, family-friendly, and inclusive – perfect for audiences of all ages and abilities.
Our Values
At The Country Duck, we believe in creating experiences that are:
- Fun and memorable – every event is lled with laughter, light-hearted competition, and smiles.
- Educational and inspiring – we share the amazing intelligence and instinct of working sheepdogs, teaching respect for countryside traditions.
- Professional and safe – our displays are fully insured, risk-assessed, and designed for any suitable outdoor space.
- Flexible and tailored – no two events are the same; we adapt each display to suit your venue, audience, and schedule.
Above all this we believe in animal welfare and ensuring our dogs and duck have the
best life, and ensure they enjoy the day as much as their guests!
We pride ourselves on delivering a professional service – run by people who genuinely love
what they do.
Meet Our Team
Behind every great show is a team of passionate handlers, talented dogs, and of course – a few clever ducks!
Our handlers have years of experience working with trained sheepdogs, many of whom also work on farms and compete in sheepdog trials across the country.
Each dog is carefully trained to work calmly and safely with ducks in a range of environments, from hotel lawns and wedding venues to large show arenas.
Every display reflects the incredible bond between human, dog, and duck – a true celebration of countryside teamwork and trust.
